Separately, mix dry ingredients together and wet ingredients together, then combine by gradually adding liquid into dry until you have a cake batter consistency.
Preheat and oil waffle iron. Spread batter evenly on iron. Cook until steam diminishes.

Ingredient Tip • Only use 1/2 cup liquid if using almond flour.
Use 1 cup if using a thicker milk.
Use 1 3/4 cups liquid if using a very thick liquid like full-fat coconut milk. Ingredient Tip • Coconut, white rice and amaranth flour do not work well in this recipe. Ingredient Tip • Substitute the starch for flour if using an all purpose or gluten-free flour mix.
